Day 56

Did Pretty good over the last 24 hours. Played some cash games did really good for a while then came back down to earth and made a few bucks. Then just a little bit ago I played 2 Horse sngs and a mtt holdem. I got a 1st and 3rd in Horse and lost around the bubble in the mtt. Took a pretty bad beat early in the mtt to cripple me when I was doing good. I held AJ hearts and just called flo came 1064 all hearts. Guy bet small I just called. Turn came 6 he bet small again, this time I knew I had to raise big as he might have a 6. I rasied the pot and he called. Then the river came 10..... obv. He bet small again this time I just call, he shows 108 off suit, what a clown. Anyway pretty good day overall, up $40. Gonna study for a final tom then play a little more.

Tip of the Day:

Aviod large bigger pairs in Stud h/l in early position. Lets say your first or second to act after the bring in and you have a hand like q4q or j10j, I recommend not playing these hands. With 5 more people to act depending on what their window card if they call they are probably going for low. If a few people call you and are going for low, you are almost surely only going to get half the pot at best. And alot of the time you probably wont get any unless you improve your pair. I would only play these hands if your late to act or if most of the window cards are high. Now if you have a hand like qq4 or kka or jj2 then raise for sure. First off people will think you have a low or in the case of the ace, a pair of aces. So now if you hit another nice low on 4th and bet again it looks like you have a nice low going. So if they are going for a low as well they will either have to make a call hoping you miss your low and they get one or if they dont improve they will have to fold. This way even if they seem to have hit their low they will be cautious to your "better" low and will either fold (unless they hit a straight) or play passive and check it down or call it down. With a check or call down from the opponent your probably getting half the pot anyway as you are likely to imrove you pocket pair. If they chase to the river for a low or if they had a pair like 99 or 1010 thinking you have a low you might even scoop. It is more important what the opponent thinks you have than what you actually have

Day 55

It has been a long time since my last post on here. I completely stopped playing for a while, partly because I was frustrated and the other part because I graduate this semester. Anyway since I came back playing a couple weeks ago I started out playing just Horse sngs again and wasnt doing very well. So I moved to Horse cash games 1/2$, that went ok, but I still struggled during the Holdem portion. So I decided to try stud h/l 1/2$ and its been going pretty good. The players are either really good or really bad. Ive been playing long enough now at these tables to know who the good players are and I stay away from them unless I have a monster. I like limit because Im not losing as much all at once, which helps keep me off tilt. I also found a new website that I was able to get rakeback from, which is big since Im playing cash games now. I went to the school and made a new account then registered with the new rakeback site. Ill give the link at the end of this post. Anyway, Ill post on here a little more regular since Im done with school now and looking for a job :( So until I find one ill be playing a lot and hopefully winning. Since my last post Im up 175$

Try this site if you cant get rake from raketherake

Day 31-32

Honestly, Im so sick of this right now. Ive been playing for 9 days now on Fulltilt and I cant seem to win. I lost about 50 over the past two days and just dont get it. When I started this blog I was a winning player and up thousands over the last year. In the last 30+ days Im a break even player and its making me sick. To make things worse people that I thaught how to play poker are all doing really well and up alot lately. In fact one of them told me to watch him play for a bit because it might help..... ahhhhhhhh. I really dont get it and dont know what to do. Im gonna stop posting on this blog for a bit until I get my shit together. Up 100 over 9 days is not exceptable. I either need to move to a different site or re-think my game completely. I am going to play on this site until thankgiving, but if im not up a significant amount by then im done. Done with this blog for a bit and done with Fulltilt. I have people that want to bankroll me on other sites but I dont really wanna deal with being bankrolled right now. I like doing my own thing. So this blog is done until I either make a big break through or give in and get bankrolled. Gl players until then......

If there is anyone out there that wants to bankroll a winning player email me or contact me. Ill give you all my user names on the sites I play on and you can look up my stats. For me to get bankrolled it would have to be a good deal though. Otherwise im on Sabatical. peace

Day 30

Just gonna be quick about this today didnt play much. Played 4 sngs, 2 holdem and 2 horse and 1 mtt. I ended up having three cashes. Got heads in both holdems and took 1 first and a 2nd. The 2nd I was ahead and lost to k8 to aq and then he came back and won. In the Horse I took 2nd in 1 and bubbled in the other, with some really poor play by me at the end. The mtt I made the final table only to donk out in 9th again with a marginal hand obv. Anyway for not playing very long still had a decent day winning $45.

Tip of the Day: For 7 card stud beware of playing small to medium pairs. Often times I see people who get a pair of 9's or 10's in their first cards and raise. Then when they get reraised with someone holding a K or A showing they call. This isnt the worst idea, I mean you have to see another card once you have that much in but after 4th street and 5th street if they continue to bet and you done improve to trips or a really good draw you need to dump your hand. This is how you lose alot of chips/money by chasing people who probably have a better hand than you. Unless your in late position in a 7 stud tournament or horse tourn you should just dump your smaller pair. Dont just call with it, fold it you will save money and you can wait for better spots. Most of all before you consider your cards look around the table and consider what other people might have. You need to remember what cards have been shown on the board if your in the hand to know your odds on each street. In Stud it is more important what other people might have than what you hold. Remember this and you will be a much better stud player

Day 29

Played quite a bit today. I played about 15 sngs and 5 to 6 mtts. I started out the losing badly. I just cant seem to win on no limit, im starting to question on my game. I was down about $60 early and took a break. Then I had a real good session where I had 4 cashes out of 4 (no firsts tho). 7th in a mtt, and 2nds and a third. I ran really well in this session and was 1 big double up from having a big cash in the 90 man i played. So at this point im up a little bit for the session. I decided to played just two more sngs and played poorly in them and didnt cash, and one mtt where I started out good then got blinded down around the bubble got one double and made final table ( only a $3 game tho so im not excited by any means). Im short stacked and I had to call allin with kq, he showed kq two diamonds...... turn D river D he wins with a flush. Obv my kq loses to kq suited, and i take 9th. Im doing something right becasue every fucking final table Ive made so far at this site it to I lose the first allin I try, usually to lesser hands. Anyways I end up $20 for the day, not so good for playing 6+ hours. So far this is the 6th or 7th day Ive played on this site and Im up less than $100. I need to start winning soon im getting discouraged

Tip of the Day: I have been playing lots of horse lately. I am not the best at all of the games but am solid in all. I learn to just play aggressively in games im good at, the other games I play really tight and wait for others to make mistakes. Often time people will just remember you being aggressive in one game and translate it to you in another. So when your in a game your not the best at (for me limit holdem) just play tight. So when you do get that big hand and you rasie it pays off. So be aggressive during your strong games and play tight during the weaker ones.

Day 29

Yesterday was a break even day. I played quite a bit probably like 12-15 sngs. I did really well again in the Horse sngs, and terrible in no limit holdem. In fact I had zero cashes in 8 holdem sngs and im pretty sure I cashed in every Horse sng I played. Today I think im going start playing 2 to 1 Horse over 2 to 1 Holdem ration. I might as well I just cant seem to win at Holdem. I also bubbled in a 90 man $10 tournament, 10th place. I had a decent stack and called an allin from a shorter stack. I had AQ he had KJ, obv I lost and was crippled. Ended having to push with A rag and didnt hit. Any way dead even on the day and not much to talk about.

Tip of the Day: Dont over play AK from out of position early in sngs. If you get this hand in early position dont try and get the pot too big. Make a standard raise. If you get a couple of caller and hit top pair bet out. If someone calls and the turn card is a scare card (him getting straight, flush or two pair) either check the turn or make a smaller bet and see if he just calls or makes a big raise. If you check and he bets the turn more often than not he made his hand. You def have to worry about a set here and or two pair if kq or kj is on the board. If you dont make the pot large you get away from top pair top kicker safely and still ahve chips to play

Day 28

Today started out really well. I played three sngs and took 2 1sts and 1 2nd. The second I lost allin preflop Aj to a8 too. I have been playing a few HORSE sngs and they have been going quite well. Out of the 5 or 6 that I have played I havent cash only once and that was a 4th. The players at this table just seem to take too many risks early in the tournament. By the time the blinds and antes are big I usually only have to win one big hand and Im in the money. The second session I did ok. I did lose in a mtt preflop close to the money AK to A3 though. My last session didnt go so hot. I lost the Horse in 4th, took 5th in sng 55 to a10. Then took 5th in the last sng AK to AQ.... runner runner spades for a flush yuck. I did however do pretty well in the last mtt I played. It was only a $3 entry but I was chip leader fairly early. I didnt get much for hands for a while and lost the few times I tried to make plays with marginal hands. Down to ten player I was pretty short stacked and had to double up once to make the final table. Then I caught trips with an allin and checked it down to the river the some fucking retard went allin..... there were flush cards out so I folded figuring he had to have made his hand if he bet with that board and someone allin. He shows A rag obv and I miss out on a huge pot. Im so pissed, so go to final table short stacked instead. I get lucky and double up twice to get to the chip average with 7 left. I rasie once and get pushed so I have to fold then get blinded down to 5BB's check the flop after someone limps. I hit middle pair and push after he bets, he shows middle pair and I take 6th weeeeee $14. Anyway still a decent day up $60

Tip of the Day: Quick tip. When someone min rasies in early position early in the sng beware of AA or KK. More often than not when I have a good hand they always seem to AA with the min rasie play. If you raise their rasie then they go allin, id fold. In fact stay away from people that do this unless you can see a cheap flop with a hand that can bust AA KK like 78 56. Otherwise just fold and wait for better spots

Day 25-27

Thursday, Friday, Saturday.... Didnt play a whole lot, was kinda on a drinking binge. Probably played like 8 total these three days and pretty much broke even. Down $10 but I plan on playing alot today (Sunday, so far been doing well). Ill just report on that later tonight when Im done

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Day 24

Did horrible on a test today, needed to play to make me feel better. Today was an up and down day. I played about 12 sngs and 3 mtts. The multi's that I have been playing have been low stakes only like 5 or 3 dollars. Im really trying to manage my bankroll well because the tournaments are much bigger on this site and the players are also better. That was the one thing that was good about AbsolutePoker, alot of the players were terrible. But its not worth risking getting ripped off again so Im done with them for good. Anyway havent had any big cashes in MTTs but Id say im about even on them. Anyway today I started out pretty horrible not cashing in my first three. Then I got a 2nd but had a heart breaking hand. I had AA heads up and rasied to 600 he called. flop comes 10104 he checks I check. Turn comes J he checks, at this point for some reason I a little wear of the 10 but bet 800 anyway, he calls quickly. River comes 10, he bets out 1400. At this point I have to think I have the best hand unless by some gay reason he has a ten so I shove, he snap calls and shows j10..... im like WOW obv has the 10. But after this I played really well, I feel like im plaing pretty good at this point and end the first session up $50. I take a short break then play a few more this goes pretty bad no cashes, 2 4ths and a 5th. All of these I was playing great in, one of them I ran into a big hand, the only two had pretty bad suckouts. First one was AA to AK preflop..... he flops straight. Other one was JJ to A10. I this point I feel like I should be up money but im not. I decide to play 2 $5's and a $10 Horse before bed. The Horse sng I got 2nd and the 5's I got 2nd and 3rd. So I finish the day up $50 plus I got $20 released from my bonus so im actually up $70, not too bad but still no break through day, just a grind.

Tip of the Day: DONT SLOW PLAY ACES EARLY IN SNGS (for me anytime really but early in tournaments especially)!!! As simple as that. While it is reasonable to limp in with AA early position early in the tournament hoping to get raised so ou can rerasie, but for the most part just make a god sized bet. Why? With a large rasie this will eliminate the hands that typically crack AA such as 56 78 suited, J10 and small pocket pairs. The hands that will be calling a big raise should be good hands. Hopefully for you A something or any large pocket pair. If you limp in or min raise you are likely to get more than 1 caller. Then once a flop of 567 or 10J7 or any hand that has two same suits or straight possibilites, your AA doesnt look so good. While you are probably still ahead ou will probably going to have to overbet the pot and win it right there or risk letting them outdraw you, and after these flops it is hard to fold AA. So save yourself the trouble and just raise at least three times the BB, remember its better to win a small pot than lose a big one. Save the slow play for later in the tournament when you know your opponents better

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Day 23

Today was long and frustrating. I played over 20 sngs and about 5 mtts. I started the day playing 3 sngs, and again I didnt pretty well. I was back to what I put in orginally and up $50 on the day. I took a break then played about 7 or 8 with mixed results. In these I think I got 1 1st and 1 2nd to put my down a bit. Then I moved down in stakes because I was betting really anrgy and didnt wanna lose my money playing poorly. I played like 8 $5 sngs and two mtts I did okay.... but still just cant seem to win and coin flips to cash, its getting pretty ridiculous. After these im up about 25 on the day still.... not so good for playing 5 hours. I decided to play two more $10's before I go to sleep and one mtt. One of the sngs I made a bad play and lost, but the other two were much gayer. In the mtt I got down to the bubble and pushed with JJ, AK ends up calling. Flop comes J93 I hit trips.... turn 10...... river Q, im like wow but it happens so whatever i guess. Then immedatly after im on the bubble shortstacked on the sng, I push allin with AA with about ten BB's. Guy in SB snap calls with 107 offsuit ??? Flop comes 42K.... turn 7...... river 10, WTF!!!! This REALLY pisses me off. Today could have been really good but I had about 8 bubbles out of 20sngs. While I didnt play the best today I gotta win some coin flips to make a profit and today I just couldnt. Couple that with a few horrible beats, and im fortunate to be even today.

Tip of the Day:
If you seem to be taking alot of 4th and 5th places you should be a little move aggressive around the bubble. Its one thing to take 4th and 5th places by people calling your rasies or allin's but quite another to be taking these 4th and 5ths getting close to blinded out. Remember if you are pushing with around 8-10 BBs people are much more likely to fold than if you have 4-6 BBs. If you get down to 4-6BB you have to push with almost anything, while sometimes you might finally catch a huge hand, more often than not youll be pushing with Ace rag or worse and are likely to get called with hands like A8+, k10, kj, kq qj and you will at best only be a slight favorite. Now if you are pushing with marginal hands in late position with around 10BBs than the A8, kj exe.... arent very likely to call. If you do get called your probably only a sight underdog most of the time and unless they have a monster you probably at least still 35%+ to win. Plus THEY have to make the call first, put the pressure on them to call all or a large portion of their stack with marginal holding. If they fold to your push you increase your stack by around 25% which will let you see a few more blinds and hopefully catch that monster when people think your shoving too much. Disclaimer...... Since Ive started this blog this hasnt been working for me as you can tell by the posts but throughout my online poker playing days it has been profitable

Day 22

I started playing poker again yesterday. I deposited $300 into my FullTilt account in hopes of rebuilding my bankroll. The first day left me very frustrated and unsure of my game. My first 3 sngs I played went pretty well, I took a 1st and a 2nd and was up $40 already and feeling pretty. I took a break and I wish I would have stopped. I played three more later on.... no cashes. Then I played 3 more..... no cashes. By now Im pretty frustrated. I decide to play 4 more before bed. I played really well this session, but I end up taking 3 4ths and 1 2nd. The 2nd I got was the only one I played poorly in. The 4ths I took, one was JJ to A8 alin preflop, and the other two were AQ to 1010 and AK to 1010. I mean when Ive lost this many in a row you would think I could win at least one coin flip, but no.... So I end down $50 for the first day and left wondering if I forgot how to play. Today Im gonna start playing $10's if I get down to $200 im gonna switch to $5's for a bit to get my confidence back up.

Tip Of The Day: This has to do with my last post regarding keeping your computer protected. Make sure you have a good firewall and virus protection unless you want your account hacked into. It happened to me and could happen to you.

Day17-20 DONT PLAY ABSOLUTE POKER!!!

Last Sunday I went into my poker account on AbsolutePoker and went into my account only to find that $300 was missing. Finally after 5 days of numerous email and calls by phone that I made I finally found out what happened. Someone from Germany hacked into my account and played $300, my guess would be that they had a partner playing at the same table, lost my money to them and cashed it out under that account. AbsolutePoker told me of this and STILL refused to give my money back. I have been playing on their site for over 3 years and they STILL wouldn't reinburse my account. I understand that poker sites have policies where if your information is taken they are not liable for it, but come on. Its only $300 and I have been a so called "vauled" customer to years now. I was not happy how this was handled by their team (It took five days just to tell me someone played my money) and I can no longer play on this site. Their support team is second rate at best and they really dont seem to care that much about their players. I guess maybe if I played higher stakes things may have been different. At any rate I done with this site and in the next week or so I will be moving over to FullTilt as they seem to be alot more reliable. So my advice to anyone thinking about playing on this site, DONT PLAY ON ABSOLUTEPOKER!!! Im not sure if I got scammed or what but they handled this too poorly for my liking.

Here are the transcripts of the emails and a play by play of what happend, you judge for your self if they mishandled this and give me feedback if you like.

1. My first email after I relized it was gone, after I contacted them by live chat

I just logged into my account today and was getting ready to play some sngs and noticed that $300 was missing from my account. Exactly $300, Two days ago when I last played (I played 3 $10 sngs) I had exactly 363.38 in my account, today when I logged in I had 63.38. I immediatly contacted the online support center and told them of this, the lady (jennifer) told me it had been played. I looked up my most recent games and all of my recent games were either $10 or $20 sngs or .25/.50 ring games. The last game me playing being on the $10 sngs. So I looked at my transfer history and there was no activity. Then looked at my recent cashouts, I had one a few days ago that I did my self for $200. But I knew of that one and when I did it I still had over $300 in my account. I also looked at recent wins the last win I had recorded was on October the 31st on a $10 sng. There was one thing on my account of recent wins that I never did though and that was on October the 29th, $1/2 and $2/4 NL wins of $36.20 and $200.50. I never did these things and have never even played these stakes before. This may have nothing to do with what happened but just letting you know that I never played these tables and never received any of the winning, look it up. Anyway the last game played on my account was on October 31st and that was the last time I logged in. No one knows my password, nor has anyone else played on my account. I have been playing on AbsolutePoker for a few years now and have never had any problems with my account before. I like it here and would like to continue playing here so PLEASE FIX THIS FOR ME!!! Again I am missing $300 and there is no possible way I played it so I would please like it back. I will not be touching my account until I hear a response so please fix this soon so I can continue to play as I would like to today still. Thank You

2. 24 hours later

It has been over 24hours now and I still havent got a response for your site. I know that $300 isnt alot of money to your company, but to me it is. I would greatly appreciated if you handled my account and fix it soon. Here is my last message again in case it got lost, Thank you

3. Their first response over two days later

Thank you for choosing Absolute Poker. We are happy to inform you that your account has been reactivated and you should now be able to log in. Choose an empty seat to sit down.4. Proceed with the login process from thereIf there is anything else we can assist you with please let us know

4. My response to their pathetic response

Did you even read my letter? This does nothing for me, my account was never suspended in the first place. Ive sent a message to the reconciliation_matters@absolutepoker.com after I talked to a representative again today, they told me to contact them. Hopefully this message was an accident and the reconciliation department is going to handle the matter. I'll expecet to hear something tomorrow or I'll be contacting AP again.

5. After I contacted reconciliation_matters and basically sent them the same email I gave to support this is what I received

Dear Mr. Hosfield,Thank you for contacting us.Please note that an investigation was already opened for your account. As soon as the investigator team has a resolution regarding this issue you will receive a confirmation Email. If you have any further queries in regards to this matter feel free to contact us at any time

6. My name is not "Mr. Hosfield" so I dont know what the fuck they are doing at this point but im getting real pissed. I then sent them an email saying this isnt my name and I want to know exactly what happend. It has been 4 days at this point

7. Finally on the fifth day I got this email saying what happened

Thank you for choosing Absolute Poker; it is a pleasure to be of your assistance. After reviewing your account in regards of your last e-mail, we noticed that the funds in your account were used in our (BJ/Holdem/Omaha/ etc). You can request a hand history to review this by clicking on "My Account" tab, click on "Hand History", then on "Open my hand history files" and there you can choose the (BJ/Holdem/Omaha/ etc). hand history. We also noticed that the funds were used from the IP address (172.158.13.187)(172.158.13.214)(172.158.181.104)(172.158.130.46) from (Germany). This means your account ID and/or password was compromised most likely due to an access to a fishing/fraud site or a virus installed in your hard drive that allows a third party to see your log in information. Please remember that at no moment any Absolute Poker staff member or promotion will ask for your account password. Players are responsible for keeping their password and log in information safe and secure, especially if someone else has access to that computer. This is a very important issue that every customer needs to complete for their own safety and protection of their account and for that reason we posted this requirement on our main site.
-this was followed by a copy of their security aggreement to the user basically telling me how they are not liable for my account

8. My response email (last ditch effort to get my money back)

Dear Support

Im more than a little pissed about this. First of all it took your support team 5 days to give me this information, that is pretty pathetic. Then your telling me that someone from Germany hacked into my account and played my money (exactly $300 for some reason....) for no reason other than to be a dick? Then your going to tell me that your not going to give me my money back even though you know I did not play it? Ive read the user agreement so dont send it to me again after you get this email. I have been playing here for a long time and have given this site plenty of money and business from getting my friends to play here, I can send you a list of all the players that currently play on your site because of me if you would like. This is the first time there has been any problem with my account. I plan on cleaning my computer out and making a new more secure account and password. I know that $300 is not a big deal to your company, but for me it is alot to lose as I am fairly broke right now. So I am respectfully asking you to give me back my $300 that was taken. If you can not do this I will no longer be playing on your site. Also I will have to post everything that happened to me (our email transcripts, account history, basically the whole story) on all the poker forums and blogs that I currently subscribe to just to show how poorly I believe this was handled by your team. I find it hard to believe that you cant pay the small sum of $300 back to my account. While you might not care I have plenty of friends playing online poker and I promise you will lose some business becasue of this from people currently on the site and or people thinking about joining. This is not a threat or anything because your company probably doesnt care, this is more of a "valued" customer asking to have a small amount of money that you know he didnt play given back to him as an act of good faith. Please let me know soon what your final decision is so I can either continue playing on your site or cash out the rest of my money and cancel my account. Thank you and please respond in a more timely fashion as I would like to continue playing cards online again.

9. Their response email

In order to discuss this issue further we request that you please call our toll free # 1 877 887 6537We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding. If there is anything else we can assist you with please let us know

10. So then I called this number which was completly pointless, they just stated the user aggreement again and told me they werent giving me my money back. Here is my final email

Dear AP,

Well I called the number and that was worthless, they told me exactly what it said in your last email and wasted MORE of my time. It would have been better if you had just said your not getting the money back. Obviously whoever played my money in Germany had a partner and just lost the money to them on a table, hopefully your at least looking into that persons account and doing something about that..... Anyway I understand your position and get that you cant pay back everyones money who this happens to. I just thought maybe you might make an exception for a so called "vauled" cumstomer, but I guess I was wrong. Ive had my computer cleaned out and have installed new AntiVirus software so now I will continue to play poker again, it just wont be with your site. I'll be cashing out the rest of my money and playing off my points then I'll be done with AP forever. Sorry it had to be this way and I realize its probably not your site's fault, but I just cant trust it anymore. Your support team is also not up to par with other poker sites as it should not take 5 days to tell me that someone played my money, that is completly unacceptable. Hopefully for your site's sake when you merge with UltimateBet things get better otherwise and cant see it working out for your company in the long run

So as you can see this is an awful lot of effort but it for just $300 dollars. I figure 6 days of non-playing and 5 plus hours of wasted time on this matter is enough for me to never play here again. So just be aware of my story before you play at AbsolutePoker, it could easily happen to you. Hopefully Ill be back on here within a week or so with a new bankroll and a new site

Day 13/14

Only played a couple this weekend, I was busy for Halloween and such. Broke about even, but thats not the story of the weekend for poker. I logged into my account today and I was missing $300 from my account. I scrambled around the site to see what happened and I had no recent activity, so I contacted the website over the phone, they said I played the money!!!! I know for a fact I didnt play any of that money because I didnt even play on Saturday and the last game it show me playing was a $10 sng on Friday. They told me to send them an email explaining what happend and I am waiting to hear back from them. I want my money back and am pissed!!! If I dont get my money back I will release all of my records and emails showing how someone either scammed me outside of the site and or the site messed up my money and didnt give it back. This blog could be done for a while if my money isnt returned......

Day 12

Today I was back to the drawing board. I only played 7 Sngs total and no MTTs so it was a pretty slow day. However I did do pretty well. In my earlier session where I played 4 I had two cashes 1 first and 1 second. My first was in 7 stud h/l, I would prefer to just play 7 stud h/l because it is probably my best game but nobody ever registers for these on this site so I mostly just stick to no limit holdem. The two that I didnt cash in kinda pissed me off becasue I bubbled in both. One of them I went allin with 9's and got called by q's and hit the 9 on the flop....obv the q came on river, sigh. In my second session I only played three but cashed in all of them, a first second and third. I even had a sweet suckout on 1 to cash 4's against 9's so that was sweet. Only play like 3 hours total to today and had a $70 profit.

Tip of the Day: Quick golden rule for bankroll management. Never risked more than 5% of your bankroll in any one game. So you have to have over $200 in your account to play a $10 game. In cash games you dont buy in for anymore than $10, which would be 15 25 cent blinds. If your new to the game and are just started I would recommend about double that or about 3% of your bankroll. If you follow this rule strictly it is very difficult to go broke, you can make it through the bad swings.

Day 11

Wow today was quite the day, and I even ended it early. I had a minor meltdown today. It started after my last class today I came home and enrolled in 4 sngs. Nothing real bad happened there I ended up breaking even. So then I decided to play some cash games for a bit... big mistake. I sat down with 20 on two tables. Played for a bit and got up to 40 on one table when I got pocket aces. I rasied two 2 and got two callers, the flop came j104 the first guy to act bet out 1.50 the other guy called and I rasied to 7.50 becasue I thought he might have kq, he called the other guy folded, this was suspect. the turn came 8 this time he checked and I bet half the pot, he instantly shoved allin, I had to call he turned over q9. This sent me into an angry mode. I played 4 turbo sngs immediatly and lost in all of them, now I was really pissed, so I decided to move up stakes to 20's.... not a good idea. I played three of these and made two terrible calls to lose in two of them and bubbled in the last one. At this point I wanted to jump through a window or just play a 100 sng. I calmed myself down, and looked at my bankroll, I was down to 500 ahhhh. I REALLY wanted to play more but instead I decided to cash out 200 and go back to my orginal roll of 300 before I did anything else stupid. So back to the drawing board I guess, but still up 200 overall.

Tip of the Day: This brings me to the tip of the day. When you are on tilt, QUIT. Dont move up in stakes and dont continue to play, you wont win. When your on tilt you going to make bad plays and calls you normally wouldnt make. I know its tough to quit when your down but it is the best option. I dont think I have ever won any money when Ive been on tilt, bad things just seem to happen. If you absolutely HAVE to play, move down in stakes until you calm down. Moving up in stakes in the worst idea, trust me I do that stupid shit way too much.

Day 9/10

On day 9 I only played 6 sngs, and didnt really run that well. I also played cash games and won a few bucks. Not much to talk about down $15 for that day. Today I woke up in the afternoon because I didnt have class (P.S I cant miss anymore class because ive been missing too much and my teacher told me I have to make every day to pass). Anyway I started playing early and played all day and night long. I played about 15 sngs total today and 3 MTTs. I started in the first session playing really well and getting very lucky. While I didnt cash in either of the MTT's I did awesome in sngs which is amazing. First time I have done this well playing sitn goes since I started this blog. I even had some sweet suckouts. The best one was I had qj in SB with very high blinds and 4 people left so I pushed the BB he called with AK. Flop came k93 turn 4 river 10 for the winning straight.... ended up winnin that one. I was up over $100 during that session. I took a few hour break and came back and played.... lets just say the the good run in sngs didnt hold. I only had 1 cash out of 5 and I took 3rd in that one from a horrible beat. This guy pushed allin and I made a call with a6 suited thinking he was trying to steal, he was he showed j6 and then he flopped a flush. I still had chips and went allin with aj next hand he called with kings. I flopped two pair and he hit a straight on the river to win, gay. I was playing a MTT during this time though and was just hanging around like I normally do. Had 1 big double up coin flip AQ to 1010 to get in the money. With 18 left I had about 5000 chips and short stacked. Shoved once with Aj no callers. A little while later with 4000 chips I had JJ in my BB, someone rasied to 1200 I pushed allin he showed 99. Flop came 9, I was like thats just standard. Then to my surprise I hit a miracle J on the river weeeee, 10000 chips. Folded for a while longer couldnt get a hand and lost a bunch of chips. Then with ten left I pushed with 5000 k10, aj called and I hit a ten to make the final table. Won a hand right away with kq to get to 15000. Then I got KK after one person limped in, I was not gonna take any chances so I pushed allin for 13000 chips 500 1000 blinds. He snaped called me and showed AA..... OBV. I took 8th out of 115 people for a really pathetic 30 cash. O well still up on the day about $60

Tip of the Day: Dont tell your opponent when he is playing bad. Alot of times when people take a bad beat from an opponent because they made a bad call on them, they will berate the player and tell them how bad they are. Often they will tell the player exactly what they did wrong. Instead of doing this just make a note of the player, this way they will continue their bad play which is profitable for you. If you tell the player when they make a mistake, they actually might listen and not do it again. You want as many bad players at your table as possible, you'll get them in the long run.

Day 8

I again only played 6 sngs today. In the early session I took 2nds out of three to put me up on the day. Later I played three and lost the first 1 in 4th place after flopping nut flush. I checked dude shoved allin for about 1500 showed ace rag. Turn 4 for two pair, river ace for full house... sigh. Next one 5 people left I have pocket kings and rasie to 350, one guy calls and BB shoves I shove, he shows 3's. The flop hits a 3.... gay. Then i watched one of my friends play for a while during my last tournament and I lost about 5$ playing cash games. He is funny to watch because he berates all the players. In the last tournament made it down the the final 4 again and needed to double up shoved with A2 suited from the button, kinda had to only had 1800 chips with 150/300 blinds. Guy called with 9's of course I didnt hit. You would think I would to even things out but it doesnt work like that for me on sngs. Im thinking about quiting playing them. Ill give it a day or two more than switch to cash for a bit i think. I figure Im down about 150 since depositing on SNG's that is not good considering ive played over 100. ANyway down 20 on the day.

Tip of the day: A new feature to my blog. A common mistake I see is when players get below 10 big blinds, they either just raise of limp. When you have less than 10BB's you either push allin or fold. The closer the position you have in relation to the BB/SB the lesser hands you shove with. A10, AJ are hands that you dont wanna just limp with or rasie. If you go allin they will either have to fold or maybe call with a lesser hand. Even if they have aq or ak, you are still more than 30% to win, so it is a profitable play. IF they fold you take the pot down right there and increase your stack by at least 20%. So if you have a hand you would normally raise with and have just 10BB or less left shove, or wait for a better spot if you dont think its gonna be good enough. This will get you more 1st and 2nd places instead of just barely making the money in 3rd. Remember 1 1st is better than 2 3rd's by quite a bit.

Rake the Rake

I had to put this tip in here for everyone because it is such an awesome thing that not many people know about. If your new or already play on a site, you can get 30% of your rake back. What this means is every hand that is played in cash games on a site and the 10% fee they take from you when you enter a tournament (SNG, MTT, exe...) you can get back 30% of that by just signing up at RaketheRake. At the end of the month they will send you a check for that amount. This is awesome because otherwise this money just goes to the site. It is free to sign up and you also get access to very vauable freerolls. IF YOU PLAY ONLINE POKER SIGN UP FOR THIS!!!!! FREE MONEY!!!! here is the site and my referal code.

Day 7

Again didnt really have alot of time to play but it was a nice little session. I played to $10 sngs took 4th in 1 and 2nd in the other. Also played a 10$ MTT turbo. There were 150 people in it. It was an up and down tournament. In the turbo you have to shove allin fairly early in the game. So about 45 min the shoving began. I won one then lost one, then won one and lost one. Before I knew it there were like 15 people left and I was in the money. I won another allin with aj to a10 then was at the final table. At the final table i didnt play and hands for about 2 rounds of blinds. People were sucking out left and right then it got down to 7 people. blinds were 2500 5000 and I had 12000 with a8 suited on the cutoff. I had already decided that I was pushing allin no matter what. The guy in first position went allin it got to me and I pushed allin. The BB snap called so I knew i was beat. First pos showed q10 and the BB showed KK. I hit a 8 on the flop so I had some outs but I didnt improve. I took 6th place because I had more chips before the flop than the FP player. I won $70 and I was ok with that. Well now Im gonna go and get shitty

Day 5-6

Havent really played much the last two days. Thursday only played two and took 1 second, then went out and got drunk (and missed class the next day). Today I was hanging out with my girl so I only played 1, lol in that 1 though I actcidentally folded with a big hand when almost all my chips were in the pot...shitty. O well, Tomorrow Im gonna try and play a bunch

Day 4

FINALLY, I shipped a tournament. Im done early today becasue I wanna end on a good note. Started the day just playing 2 sngs at once to see if I could get back on track. I also entered a $5 MTT with about 240 people in it. I played a $20 and a $10. The $20 i took 3rd, horray, and other one I didnt cash. I entered two more 10's with bad results again, by now Im really frustated and my bank roll is below $200. I decided I was gonna eat something and just be done for the day. Right when I thought it was over I doubled up a couple times and was in the mix in the MTT. I grinded for the next hour and a half and won a few more pots and was among the chip leaders with about 15 people left. My break through came when I had AJ in the small blind with two limpers, I just called and BB checked. The flop came 42J, everyone checked to the cutoff who bet about half the pot, the button instantly went allin. I wasnt too sure if I had the best or not but it was a great opportunity for me to gain triple my chips if I was good. I called cutoff folded and the button showed qj, and my AJ held. Now I had about 100K in chips and was big chip leader going into final table. The FT went pretty quick, I sucked out on one guy with 7 people left with A10 to Kings, but I had to call him was getting pot odds and had 5 times as many chips as him. At this point me and another player pretty much had all the chips on the table. We ended up heads up. Alot of back and forth, they were a tight aggressive player. I stole some pots from them with some big rerasises after they bet and ended up even in chips after about 15 min. Then I had one crucial hand. They rasied preflop and I called I had 54 offsuit. Flop came 24J, they bet out, I rasied big hoping they didnt have a J, the player flat calls. This was alarming because now I had about 30% of my chips in the pot. The Turn came 9 they checked and I put another bet out about 35% of the pot, they pushed allin, I knew I had to fold. I took a long time deciding on it to make it seem like I was making a tough laydown lol. They acutally showed me their hand when I folded they made trip 9's on the turn. I told them I folded j10 lolololol. Now they had a 3 to 1 advantage on me, a few hands later I dodubled up pushing with AJ they called with KJ, we were even again. After a back and forth for the next 10 min, the final hand happened. They rasied me preflop I had A5 clubs, I just called. The flop came K48 two clubs, they bet out I made a big rerasie OBV and they just called. The turn came 5 no club, they checked. At this point I had about 50% of my chips in the pot already and they showed weakness. I really only have two opitions here, check or move allin. If I check and dont hit the club I almost surely lose unless I somehow make a bad bluff on the river. If I move allin either they fold right away and I win a huge pot and have huge advantage or I get called and have about 14 outs on the river. I put them on a King so I figure I can either hit another 5, any Ace or any club. I push allin, they call showing k7 of diamonds. The river comes......... club horray!!!!!! I win about $120 more dollars from that club. While they were pissed off, they did call with a weak king and I feel like I made the correct play, and FINALLY got rewarded for it. Shipped $330 from that tourament, and have a nice profit from the day on just a $5 tournament. I needed this for my confidence, it is back now

Day 3

Just a terrible day. Must have played over 20 sngs with very bad results. Wasnt even gonna write anything today because im so pissed, but o well. I didnt suckout 1 time today, and I was losing about 80% of coin flips, ugh. So many bad beats I stopped keeping track, but here is one from early in the day that started my terrible run. I have 2400 chips and AK blinds 75 150. I rasie to 450, everyone folds to BB who calls. Flop comes KQ7, I bet out he pushes allin I call. He shows K10. turn comes J river 9 for the winning straight. Overall on the day I only had 4 cashes, no firsts. Down over 100 on the day. Tomorrow I gonna try playing less tables, like 2 or 3 at a time instead of 5 to try and get back on track. Things arent looking good for me right now though

day 2

A real shit show today on Absolute Poker. Morons and Donkeys everywhere today. I only played 12 sng's because I went out and got drunk but it was really pathetic only two cashes. I did get 5 4ths tho weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Anyway I did meet the worst poker player ever tonight, he was a real call station fagget and single handedly took me out of two tournament with his patheitc calls, so congrads to him he can now buy food stamps for his trailer court family. Anyway there were tons of canidates for bad beat of the day (there were alot) but I do have a winner. My BB I had 85 offsuit three limpers checked to me, of course i checked with 15 30 blinds. Flop comes J79 everyone checks, I check. Turn comes 6, sweet I hit a straight. Everyone checks to me, I bet the pot which was 150 two people fold the button rasies to 350, I instantly push allin, he calls and shows j10. River of course is an 8 for his winning higher straight yay. I totaled 5 bad beats today to lose 10/12 tournamnets worse than normal, zero real suckouts, I mean I won a coin flip or two but I dont count those. Not too happy. Anyway a really bad day down over $60 and pissed some regulars off because of my shit talk, I usually dont say anything but today was real frustrating

First day

I have been playing cards online now for about 4 years. I just recently started playing seriously (about a week ago). I am still in school but I graduate this sememster, so before I get a job I thought I would give this a shot. I play mostly SNG's like 4-6 at a time and am trying to build a bankroll. I just recently cashed out about $1000 because I had tons of bills to pay. So my blog will start from yesterday when I deposited $300, this is my last go at it I think. Since I just decided to do this I didnt really take notes on yesterdays play, but I'll give the quick run down. Played about 10 sng's $10 for each. Didnt do very well, only 1 first and 1 2nd no other cashes. Had some bad beats, then started to play bad because I was angry. I took a break then played 5 more, again I did badly only 1 3rd. After another break I was down to about $220 in my account. If you follow good bank roll managment I should be moving down to the $5 tables, but I didnt. Played 4 more $10 tables, got two firsts. Then ate and played 4 more $10's and got two more firsts. While I was playing these I entered a MTT for $10 there ended up being 72 people in it. I was done playing sng's for the day and was ok with the $306 I had in my account. I just kinda hung around in this tournament til the blinds got big then I pushed with two good hands and doubled up twice. I folded for about the next 45 min (card dead) then got down to about 14 people at second break. I was shorter stacked and was looking for a spot to push, but some people where playing crazy and all the sudden I was at the final table, top 9 cashed so that was sweet. I was in 8/9 place and in push or fold mode. Someone pushed on me when I had kings and doubled up. Folded a bunch got short stacked with 6 left someone pushed on my BB from SB I had A3 with only 7BB left so I kinda had to call. He showed 55 and I hit the A, sweet. Got down to final 3. First had 70,000 I had 20,000 3rd had 10,000. 1st was rasing every hand. He rasied allin from button into my BB I had AQ, I thought about it for a while because 3rd place was $90 while 2nd was $145 so it was a big difference, but I could really fold that hand there. I called he showed pocket 10's and I didnt hit the A or Q. I won $87 and my bank account is at $393.
